Formula: take it or leave it? May 2001

As the holiday season gets into full swing, there remains confusion over exactly what people are allowed to take out of the UK when they fly off on holiday. In particular, some bottle-feeding mothers have questioned whether or not they're permitted to take formula milk out of the country. The European Commission has issued a statement to say that baby milk CAN be circulated freely within and outside the European Union.

Also worth bearing in mind: most major brands sold in the UK are also retailed in the major countries abroad. If in doubt the manufacturer should be able to give further information.
