One-stop travel clinics at Boots - June 2001

Boots has joined forces with the Medical Advisory Services for Travellers Abroad (Masta) to launch its own travel clinics offering a one-stop option for travellers to have vaccinations and seek advice from qualified medical staff. Each customer will receive expert advice on the health situation in a particular destination (from recommended vaccines to food and drink), along with a travel pack for the area. Boots is initially testing out the scheme in five stores: High Street Kensington, Leeds, Manchester, Milton Keynes and Reading.

Masta was set up in 1984 at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine with the aim of raising awareness about health issues associated with travel. The organisation provides authoritative and up-to-date information (including matters relating to children) via a dial-up computer system.
