Why Alpine adventures?
For parents in search of adrenaline
highs, the Alps are a great year-round holiday option from skiing and
wintersports to summer outdoor activities. Excellent childcare at all the
options we recommend means that you can indulge in your chosen pursuit while
your children are having a great time too. Against a striking backdrop of
imposing peaks and lush valleys, there's opportunities to get to grips with an
endless range of outdoor activities on offer, from skiing in winter, to
walking, whitewater rafting, canoeing, summer skiing, and even swimming in the
mountain lakes during the warmer months.

| About: |
|
These beautiful, spacious apartments are perfect for families and groups. With large beamed ceilings and vaulted ceilings throughout they offer cosy and comfortable accommodation and are equipped with good facilities, including high chairs, booster seat, cot and baby bath. The showers are great and there is lots of room for kids to play and adults to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere. There is a games cupboard, for adults as well as the young, a library of novels, and toys for infants and toddlers are provided. There is an excellent drying room in the basement and under-floor and central heating throughout.
Childcare is catered for in-house, either for a full week or part-days (contact alpsholiday.com for prices), and catering by a local chef for evening meals can be provided if booked in advance.
The old farmhouse, Snowgums, in which the apartments are situated has a half acre walled garden, with lots of fruit trees, and is just five minutes from the Serre Chevalier main cable car. Briancon old town has steep cobbled streets and lots to explore, and this is also only five minutes away. The main centre of Briancon, with all amenities, including swimming pool and tennis courts, is also only… five minutes away!
Opposite Snowgums a large field slopes down to a glacial river on the edge of a wood. Awash with flowers in the spring, abuzz with the sound of crickets in the summer, this field makes a great tabogan slope in the winter! The house has beautiful Alpine views in all directions – truly at the heart of Serre Chevalier.
There are two apartments, one sleeping 6 and one sleeping 4, and these are frequently booked together for two families or a group. Prices start from £360 per apartment per week (£60 per person), 490 euros per apartment per week (82 euros per person). Family discounts apply where there are a maximum of two people over the age of twelve per apartment.
Serre Chevalier offers all the activities you could want in both summer and winter, is more relaxed than some Alpine areas and really promises some magic experiences. With wonderful valleys to explore, the Italian border just 15 minutes drive away, and villages, hikes, cycle rides and skiing in all directions there is so much to explore. Alps Holidays help clients with recommendations and directions wherever they are able to, including excellent ski instruction with a local British Ski School.
