- Spacious and comfortable: whichever cottage you choose, the proper bedrooms will have comfortable beds (no bed settees or bunks on landings !) a full bathroom with bath, shower facility, toilet and sink with excellent water pressure and loads of hot water. They all have enough lounge and dining seating to accommodate everyone.
- Well equipped with everything you'll need for a self catering family holiday. All the cottages have 4 ring gas hob, oven, grill, refrigerator, microwave and all the crockery and cutlery needed; some cottages have dishwasher, dvd, fridge/freezer and drinks fridge too.
- Choice of cottages to suit your budget and your tastes

Chris and Wendy have 2 young children of their own, they have also been letting out cottages to families with toddlers and children of all ages at La Grange du Moulin since 1996 so have experience of what children of all ages enjoy and what makes their parents holidays enjoyable too.
They
welcome families with children of all ages.That means there will be other like minded families with children, all wanting an enjoyable relaxing stay where there are other children for theirs to play with. If your children are entertained then it usually means you'll be able to relax that bit more.
Large garden has a sandpit, swings and slide. These are set on an impact absorbing wood chip surface (just in case). There is plenty of space to play boules or ball. There are numerous large trees around the garden creating plenty of shade and also lots of super hiding places. There are lots of childrens garden toys and trikes and a very popular tractor.
Beaches are an easy drive away from La Rochelle to Royan there are so many places to discover and explore.
Heated swimming pool is completely enclosed by a 1m80 high fence and wall and is accessed by one gate which is self closing and has a child proof latch. It is alarmed for extra security and maintained daily.There are plenty of sun beds and both sunny and shady areas at different times of day.
Heated Splash pool perfect for toddlers. There is also a small paddling pool for the really tiny ones.

The area is one of the sunniest parts of France. Far from busy roads, on the edge of an historic village in the sunflower-strewn Nie valley (near St Jean D'Angely). A former Napoleonic era fortified farm, the property has been carefully restored to retain its original rustic charm.

The fortified
farm layout at La Vendange
provides an especially safe
and secure environment for
families with young
children. The large central
lawn is surrounded by the
cottages and former farm
buildings.
La Vendange has been set up
as a fun, relaxing base for
exploring the lovely coast
and countryside of
Poitou-Charentes. We
consider that the
accommodation and facilities
are most suited to families
with babies, toddlers and
primary school aged children
under 12 yrs.
There is plenty of space to
run around in and the
playground area contains
swings, slides, a
large covered sandpit,
a wendy
house and a large
trampoline with safety net
plus play equipment for
children of all ages.
While the children play
within sight, the adults can
relax in their own private
garden areas or from the
swinging sofa or the
benches.
There is a large play barn
with table tennis, table
football and a basketball
hoop, a dvd library and
sofas to relax on. A great
place for the children to
play when it’s too hot (or
if it rains!)
Our south-facing heated
swimming pool is 10mx5m. It
is heated by solar panels.
The in-ground pool has a
flat bottomed shallow end
with a constant depth of
around 85cm with then slopes
down to the deep end at a
max depth of 2m.
For younger children there
is also a 5m2 splash pool
which is 65cm deep and is
partially surrounded by a
wooden deck with tables and
sun beds.
A Cot, Stair gates, potties,

as standard in all the

This huge rural retreat set in 9 acres of totally private, enclosed grounds, was once a stud farm. The outbuildings have been lovingly renovated into spacious, luxury accommodation whilst the site includes a large pool plus everything a family could want on holiday. Situated in the heart of the Charente-Maritime region in south-west France between La Rochelle and Cognac, Mirabelle enjoys the convenience of being close to the historic and picturesque towns of St Jean D’Angely and Saintes (once the Roman capital of south west France). The local villages also boast good bakeries and corner shops for daily essentials. The nearest beach is at Fouras (35 mins drive) and the islands of Oleron and Ile de Re are also within an hour. |

La Vanille was a former music room and is arranged on a single level. It has high ceilings and exposed beams. It is a huge two bedroom gite with a fitted kitchen (including washing machine) with children’s’ crockery, dining area (with high chair) and sitting room. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has three single beds (plus cot if required). A toy-box and children’s’ books are also included. The gite overlooks the courtyard and open fields. Outside is a patio area with garden furniture, sun loungers and a barbecue. Like all the gites, it has wi-fi.
La Lavande sleeps up to 5 plus a cot
This large two-bedroom gite is arranged over one floor with a ground floor bedroom having one single bed and bunk beds plus cot if required. The adult bedroom is on a large mezzanine level and has a stair gate. This gite has partially exposed stone walls and direct access to the pool area as well as courtyard. The new kitchen includes a fridge-freezer, oven, hob, microwave and washing machine. The large dining table also has a high chair. A toy-box and children’s’ books are also included. Outside is a patio area with garden furniture, sun loungers and a barbecue. Like all gites, it has wi-fi.
Le Safran sleeps up to 4 plus a cot
This two bedroom gite is arranged on one level and has high ceilings and exposed beams. It comprises a fitted kitchen plus washing machine, dining area with children’s’ crockery high chair and sitting room. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second room has two single beds. A toy-box and children’s’ books are also included. Le Safran has access to the pool area and to the courtyard and has views of the pool, courtyard and countryside. Outside is a patio area with garden furniture, sun loungers and a barbecue, which overlooks the courtyard and garden furniture facing the pool area. Like all gites it has wi-fi.
La Citronnelle sleeps up to 4 plus cot
This glass-fronted gite is arranged over one floor and has partially exposed brickwork. As a former artist's studio it enjoys fantastic light and a very high-ceiling which adds to the sense of space. It overlooks the courtyard and has a modern kitchen including a fridge-freezer, oven, hob and microwave. The dining table has a high chair and children’s’ crockery. Alternatively catch a ferry from Ireland or the south coast of England and drive 5-7 hours from major ports (Calais, Boulogne, St Malo, Le Havre, Caen, and Roscoff). The Channel Tunnel is another option and the quickest way to cross the channel. |
