Calcot Manor, Winner of the Best Hotel Spa of the Year 2004 is located in the south of the Cotswolds, three miles west of the Tetbury home of Prince Charles (Highgrove). The hotel aims to be genuinely welcoming to families without losing its appeal for other guests in search of a peaceful country house hotel. Set in acres of its own grounds the hotel provides beautiful space for children to explore and wonderful luxury to indulge adults.

All 30 of the rooms are beautifully furnished and each one is different from the next. All are decorated in a country house style; There are rooms and suites, designed specifically for families. Each has a television and video recorder, a babylistening monitor which is linked up with reception and a fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Family rooms and suites are either fitted with bunk beds or sofa beds, and are located in the courtyard wing, close to the swimming pool and outdoor play area. New in 2004 is the Deluxe Family Suite with private garden. The main bedroom has a four poster bed and there is a separate lounge area also on the ground floor. On the first floor is a twin bedded room intended for children and a luxurious state-of-the-art bathroom.

Calcot Spa was opened in June 2003 and has already deservedly won awards. It is simply beautiful. This new facility offers a 16 metre indoor pool, sauna, steam room, garden spa pool, fitness room, tennis, exercise studio, 7 beauty treatment rooms and a relaxation room. The Playzone is situated in a converted barn in the courtyard of the hotel and caters for children from newborn to 16 years old. It is packed with toys and games and the mezzanine floor (the Mez) incorporates a cinema and studio equipped with Playstations, X boxes and computers for older children. Qualified nannies entertain your children whilst you relax elsewhere in the grounds. The playroom is open from 9am until 5.30pm, 7 days a week, allowing you complete flexibility to use the facility (free of charge) when it suits you. There is also an out door play area and a library of children's videos available to borrow. Babysitters available on request.
Children's High Tea is served in The Gumstool Inn from 5.30pm until 6.30pm. Younger children are discouraged from eating in The Conservatory Restaurant but families may eat together in The Gumstool Inn.

set in a wing of Ickworth House set in an idyllic location surrounded by
1800 acres of English parkland, just outside Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk,only
45 miles from Stansted, 25 miles from Cambridge and just 6 miles from Bury
St Edmunds train station. A wonderful place to relax, it offers cycling,
swimming, horse-riding and walking opportuntiies and has a fab spa and
indoor pool. Stylish, comfotable and very child-friendly, it's a great place
to spend anything from a night to a couple of weeks. |

bedrooms. Also available the Dower House apartments. These 11 exclusive
apartments are set in a corner of the estate and are idea for families. Each
apartment is individually designed amnd has luxurious bed linen and is very
comfortable. Almost all the apartments have small dishwasher/fride and oven
for the preparation of light snacks. Laundry room available. There are DVDs
and board games for hire. Guests have all the facilities of the hotel, which
just a short cycle ride (cycles free for guests)away. They are a great
choice and unique in that they offer plenty of space and flexibility and yet
all the facilities of a hotel.Highly recommended. |
