The occasional sightings of dolphin, sharks, tuna and sea horses can also add to the excitement. Some of the dive sites around Gozo.
The Blue Hole Probably the most famous of Gozo's dive sites, is the Blue Hole. From the surface it looks like an isolated pool of clear blue water, underneath revealing a large archway opening into the open sea and underneath the Azure Window. It is surrounded by breathtaking rock formations, caves and drop-off points. The average depth is 20-30 meters.
San Dimitri Point This dive is only accessible by boat and is a beautiful dive right beneath breathtaking steep cliffs. Large shoals of barracuda are often seen here. The visibility in this area is usually excellent. Average depth around 30 meters.
Billinghurst Cave This cave is an air-trapped cave on the north coast. The entry can be done from a 2-3 meter jump right above the cave entrance, subject to weather conditions. A long tunnel (some 40/50 meters) leads to the cave where you are able to surface. Average depth around 25 meters.
Double Arches The Double Arches is the formation of two holes through a vertical rock face. The top of Double Arch reef is about 18 meters and keeps going down easily to about 40 meters.
