This lovely, characterful country house hotel is set in acres of beautiful grounds and is perfectly located, just 10 mins from Longleat and 30 mins from Salisbury Stonehenge etc. Warminster is right on the doorstep – just a few minutes walk. There is much to explore nearby, and the hotel has a special relationship with Longleat Safari Park and can tailor make trips such as private safari’s etc. Salisbury and Stonehenge are fascinating and the countryside all around is ideal for walks and cycles. The river Wylye runs through the hotel grounds (fishing possible), and you can follow its path either on foot or cycle – there many pretty villages, and some excellent family friendly pubs such as the Prince Leopold, which is set right by the river and has great food. With all this to hand, and including a heated outdoor and indoor swimming pool, great food and relaxing lounges, it’s the ideal location for a break to suit everyone – relaxing yet with plenty to do on site and nearby. |

The main building is a charming Georgian house built in 1817 – full of character with comfortable lounges, complete with roaring open fires in autumn and winter. The ambiance is relaxed, informal elegance. The restaurant is modern, with a large terrace overlooking the lawns and a more informal dining are ideal for families. Bedrooms at Bishopstrow House are as characterful as the public rooms. Each of the 32 rooms has its own very distinct personality and most have been refurbished and decorated to the highest of standards using designer wallpaper and fabrics, antique furniture and fine paintings, with flowers and fresh fruit a welcoming touch. As well as the main house there are individually decorated courtyard rooms and suites, which are in general more contemporary in design and extremely comfortable. For families there are large rooms, or interconnecting rooms and also one bed suites. All the rooms have satellite TV and top quality audio entertainment systems. |
