Dar Al Masayaf
Dar Al Masayaf exterior Dar Al Masayaf bedroom
Stay: Madinat Jumeirah - Dar Al Masayaf
Location: Dramatic, utterly luxurious and exotic, the Madinat Jumeirah is located in the heart of fashionable Jumeirah Beach, the resort is made up of three individual properties - Mina A'Salam, Al Qasr and Dar Al Masyaf. All of the hotels offer a holiday of world-class service, superb facilities and relaxation. All are great options for a luxury holiday with childrens club, but Dar al Masayf has ideal accommodation for families as the accommodation is set in summer houses, which means a small family can take a room or suite, or a larger family, or group of friends/family can take linked suites, or even the whole residence - an option which can be quite hard to find elsewhere in Dubai at this level.
Accommodation: The rooms and suites of Dar Al Masyaf are arranged in the style of Arabian summer courtyard houses. An integrated design means that guests can take one room or an entire house making these exclusive residences perfect for small groups or families. All rooms/suites are very spacious, elegantly furnished in antique Arabian style, with large bathrooms, seating areasa and every conceivable luxury. The summerhouses are set in the beautiful landscaped gardens and also have excellent beach access. The resort offers a private, peaceful 'villa' like accommodation alternative to the traditional hotel room/suite.
Facilities: A private butler service is at hand for everything from exotic cocktails to helping to book a desert safari. When babygoes2 visited, the butler took effortless care of everything in a very unobstrusive way - from arranging special birthday suprises, drinks for visiting friends, playing with the children and whisking them off to the kids club ad arranging babysitters. There are beautiful exclusive pools, a private beach, watersports, tennis, healthclub and an amazing Six Senses Spa.
For children: There is a very good 'Sinbad's' kids club (located in the Al Qasr, from 3 yrs) with its own pools and babysitting/nannies on request.
Travel guide: 7 hr flight from UK, 30 min transfer.
Price guide: From £1299 per adult for a week based on 2 sharing a deluxe room, including flights, private transfers and breakfast.
We think: Dubai is a great winter sun destination - shortish flight, very little jet lag- and this is a superb luxury resort offering something a little different in terms of accommodation and feel - plenty of space, superb facilities and absolutely first class service. It's not a cheap option, but it really is worth it.
