A holiday for the family who want an adventure.
Location: Marrakech Medina is the ancient walled city. The Medina itself is now a world heritage site. Zamzam boutique hotel is in a riad- a riad has a central garden with plants and it open to the sky. In winter there is a temporary roof to keep the riad warm, but in the summer it is beautifully cool. This ancient riad was a fortune tellers house. It has been lovingly restored, adding the luxuries of a top class boutique hotel – which, unusually for Riads in Marrakech – welcomes children. The riad has a plunge pool and a spa with massage room and hammam. Zamzam is 15 minutes walk from the souks and children adore the vibrancy and sensorial experience of the medina. They love the colours and action in the medina. The riad has good access for taxis and the main road. We are 5 minutes taxi from the new town of Marrakech - Gueliz and close to all restaurants. 10 Minutes taxi to the Palmeraie for camel rides and horse riding. We are 15 minutes walk to Yves Saint Laurent Gardens, where you can pick up a horse and carriage for a tour of the city. Marrakech is 2 hours from the beach.

The beauty of Marrakech and Morocco is that it is a very child-friendly country and the Moroccans adore children. They love to have them in the restaurants and play with them constantly. The owners of Zamzam have a 4year old daughter and being on holiday with her as a baby and having a fantastic time was a major factor in their decision to move to Morocco.
Accommodation: There are 7 rooms. 4 double and 3 suites. The Palm Suite has satelite tv. All rooms have ipod docks and wifi and there are a selection of children's dvds to watch. Cots and extra beds in parents rooms are provided and there are also twin rooms, two double rooms that join into a family suite. 4 of the rooms can be twin beds as well as double. All rooms have kingsize beds. The Berber Suite and Rose Suite have baths. The Rose Suite and Hagar Room are on the ground floor and the rest of the rooms are on the first floor. There is have a wonderful sun terrace for sunbathing or eating meals. NB the Riad does have stair (no stairgate)
Facilities: baby sitting and concierge service to advise and arrange family acitivities in and around Marrakech. There are many activities for children - fantastic water parkwith restaurants for all ages with outdoor bouncy park, quad biking, camel riding, outdoor activity park with rope bridge walk, Kasbah lunch with Berber village walks, waterfall walks in the Atlas, skiing in the winter months with kids ski school, lunch at the lake with canooing.

At the riad they can advise on travelling in Morocco with children and have an excellent pediatrician should he be needed.
For children: Children's equipment - Emma the owner was a Montessori teacher and the riad is equipped with bottle steriliser, high chair, childrens plates, cups and cuttlery, cot, bed and Zamzam bears. A car seat is available and a push chair if you need it. Children's meals are provided on request.
Travel: 3 hours flight from the Uk with BA, Ryanair, Easyjet, Atlas Blue and flybe. The riad is 20 minutes from the aiport. The owners can arrange transfers and trips for you.
Price guide: Rooms are from 1400 dirhams (£120) - 2100 dirhams (£175), children stay free, high season during Christmas and Easter add 30% to room prices. Room prices are per room per night with breakfast. Please enquire for whole riad rates.
