- Ideal island for families. Very child friendly.
- Small, easy to get around. No trip takes more than an hour.
- Huge variety of beautiful, sheltered beaches, from tiny coves to sweeping bays.
- Villages with harbours, restaurants etc Fornells prettiest.
- Rolling countryside, spectacular cliffs.
- Lovely monastery on top of hightest peak - Monte Toro.
- Interesting towns, plenty of restaurants, shops and
medical facilities.
- Excellent shoe shops and great value leather markets.
- Very unhurried and relaxed pace of life.
Things to think about:
- It is quite small, so after 2 weeks (especially if you have bad weather), you can soon run out of things to see or do
- Its not undeveloped, so pick carefully to avoid "chips with everything" syndrome
- It is very much a family place, so if you dont want to feel as though youve joined the ranks of parents, or you want a bit of nightlife because youve got some babysitting arranged, then you might want to think again
Gets very busy in high season.
