- Excellent range of hotels to suit all budgets from luxury to economy, good facilities, welcoming to children.
- Good value destination even the luxury hotels are reasonably priced. Food, eating out cheaper than many other destinations too
- So much to do and see: from the stone-age settlements near the oasis at Kebili to the space-age sets of Star Wars (parts of which were filmed at Matmata). Roman ruins at Carthage and El-Jem
- Beautiful beaches particularly on North Coast.
- Tourism remains pleasantly low-key for most part, but you want lively you can find that too.
- Good transport network for getting around
Things to think about:
- June to August can be unbearably hot and hotel rates higher with everywhere very crowded with foreign visitors
- Food can be a bit limited in range
Best time to visit: March to June (July to Aug very hot though, Jan and February cool and rainy)
Visas: None required for UK visitors for stays of up to three or four months.
