Large resort - not many other guests apart from Mark Warner guests when we stayed, so it felt vast. Nice long beach with loungers, shade and windbreaks. Verywindy resort, especially in the morning, great for sailing, windsurfing and kiteboarding, easier for beginners in the afternoon. Food is fantastic, huge buffet meals, with everything you could wish for, even for fussy children! You can pay a supplement to eat at the other restaurants, the Lebanese is particularly good. The egyptian staff are fantastic. Kids club can't be faulted, the new building and staff are wonderful, loads of activities and lots of fun. No mosquitoes for us as they had drained all their ponds/small lakes. Our only negative was that the huge swimming pool with fountains, waterfalls, caves etc was unheated and so was very cold when we stayed.

| We had a fantastic holiday in Abu Soma with Mark Warner in April 2005. We thought the accommodation was
out of this world and superior to other accommodation we have stayed at
through Mark Warner. I was at the time 31 weeks pregnant and had a
lovely relaxing stay. The food was also much better than we thought it
was going to be but the wine was very expensive..... The sports
facilities were great
according to my husband and the
2 kids absolutely had a wild time at kids club. |

The hotel
is vast - good facilities but plenty of walking around to get from a to b. When
we were there it was very windy - but very hot too, which was a treat in
March/April. The kids clubs are excellent. Staff were very friendly. If you're
used to Mark Warner holidays, this resort is slightly different in that it's
part of a hotel so there is less obvious socialising with other Mark Warner
guests - which some may welcome but others miss. Tip - go well prepared with
supplies of suntain lotion, mosquito repellent. Alcohol is quite pricey.
