We visited the Aloni Apartments in Crete in Summer 2006, having been twice to Mousses with Simply Travel and had very good experiences. We had an absolutely fantastic time! The apartments are arranged around a central pool, and pool bar area, and there is also a creche, indoor games area, and on-site laundry (small sum payable locally). The apartments are simply furnished, but comfortable, with air conditioning throughout - truly needed in Greece in August! We found that the move from Mousses in Lefkas to Aloni in Crete worked for us because, with slightly older children (3 and 5) we could do more exploring, and Crete has some gorgeous beaches to find around the peninsula - the hire car comes in handy! The creche worked very well for us last year - having had a bad experience in Mousses the year before, with our son not settling well (almost 3 not a good age apparently for leaving him!), we were really pleased with how much care was taken of him by the nannies, and the way the week was planned out for the children. They couldn't wait to go to the creche each day! We would be happy to recommend this for a relaxing summer holiday!
