We had a marvellous time. The resort really was wonderful and the service excellent. The Sani Resort works really well- it makes for a really easy holiday with children. The weather was SCORCHING and the girls wanted to spend all their time in the pool and not on the beach, so that's what we did mainly! We could have done with one of the deluxe suites, but they only have 6 of the bigger suites and they were all booked up for months. If we go again, we may well go for one of them. It's lovely that it's all so new --- and the staff really bent over backwards to help us. We also met lots of really nice people. All in all, a great holiday. Thanks for the recommendation!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay in the Sani resort in what must be
one of the most luxurious hotels in Greece. The service and staff were
excellent with a wide range of food for all price ranges. After landing in
Thessaloniki airport 4 hours late, we were relieved that the taxi driver was
still there. However, do make sure that you have requested a baby seat as
the hotel have their own which is then fitted to the taxi, Journey time is
approximately 40 minutes. A buffet breakfast is provided in the marina side
Water restaurant out on the extended patio. You can also have your breakfast
in your room/balcony for an additional charge but the breakfast setting is a
delight in itself. . We stayed 5 nights but due to the Olympic flight time
back to London, you lose almost one full day and I'd recommend a longer
stay. We took our baby of 18 months and there were plenty of other families
there. However the room itself has limited baby facilities apart from the
mini-bar fridge and a kettle. I'd suggest taking cold water sterilsation
kits which also come with the bags (available from Mothercare). The resort
itself is very child friendly with plenty of baby chairs and easy access for
buggies. However we did get a few stares from fellow guests when our
littl'un didn't behave herself. Also there does not appear to separate
no-smoking areas. However the supermarket in the Marina sells most things.
Overall, thoroughly recommended. Leave time for a day trip to Thessaloniki
(1 hour by taxi) and the various local villages near the resort.

Asterias suites Halkidiki Greece
We had a wonderful time. Asterias was superb (great food, lovely apartment
and superb service) and the location was full of things to do. Thanks for
all your help and support in finding it.
Baby features in the hotel: - Picking rooms - The Marina side suites are close to the bar and restaurant so a baby monitor is more likely to work if you want to eat in the restaurant while the baby sleeps in your room. The beach side suites are more private and have a lovely view but the baby monitor will not stretch to the bar and restaurant. The junior suites are upstairs, so not so good for pushchairs!
- Baby sitting - they do offer it but it is around Euro10 per hour plus the cost of a taxi home - .
- Baby basics in the room - there is a kettle and fridge. The provided a nice cot.
- Restaurant etiquette - although the hotel restaurant and the Village
restaurant were quite 'smart', they did not object to us arriving with a sleeping baby in his pushchair.
Baby supplies:
- There is a minimart on the Marina that has some nappies and basics
- In the local town Kalithea there is a supermarket that sells milk, though
for first stage baby milk you have to go a pharmacy. The nearest is in the
village of Afitos
Traveling with Baby:
- The cab shuttle service to the hotel and the car rental company did
provide a baby seat but it was in very poor condition. We would recommend
bringing your own to avoid worry and stress of traveling with you child in a
dirty, padding-free seat.
- If you want to make the most of the walking in the area, bring a papoose
as the paths are too bumpy for pushchairs
Things to do:
- Moudania market is a short bus ride away. It is a big open market which
has some great clothes bargains and fresh fruit in amongst the usual tack.
- Thessaloniki - Lots of history and a great café culture. Worth a trip by
car or bus
- Afitos - The local village has some nice restaurants on the sea front,
making a pleasant change from those in the resort.
