We have returned from our holiday at the Porto Elounda and just wanted to get back to tell you we had a great time and i know you wanted feedback too.
Ruby had a fantastic week there so as a result we had our first relaxing holiday, i actually managed to read two books. The Ark childrens club is so well run, and they have the children doing lots of different activities such as arts and crafts, face painting, swimming, and the food is great there too. The place itself is airy, fresh and a relief i think for small children to be in that kind of environment a few hours a day. Kate and Jenny who looked after Ruby were a delight. Ruby wanted to get there as quick as she could everyday even when we did not have her booked! She liked it that much. We went out two nights and Grace looked after Ruby and she was lovely.
The hotel itself is in a great location and has its own private beach so it is extremely safe for small children.. You cannot really lose sight of them. The pool is just a step away to the beach, so you can sit by the pool and also see your family at the waters edge. It is really perfect. The Hotel mentions it is a 5 star but it would honestly say it is 4 star with a fantastic location. The rooms are really nice but the finishes a bit sloppy, and it could do with an overhall. We did not go half board as we like to try different places, but we did eat in the restaurant by the pool for dinner for a few nights and it is really good. I heard mixed things about the half board food, but i expect for a large family this is ideal. Breakfast has something for everyone and is really good.
We drove to a village called Plaka which is past Elounda and it is a really pretty place. There are a few tavernas on the watersedge and we ate the best lobster i have ever had. We went to Captain Nicholas, and the staff could not have been nicer to all of us. We arrived one night and ruby had fallen asleep on the way, so the put her upstairs in a little bed and watched over her for us.
We really appreciate all your help and persistence in trying to advise us on the best option for us. I am glad we did not go for Malaysia this time, to be honest Crete had all that we needed this time round, and it is on our doorstep. There are so many companies out there that promise different things and dont deliver. Baby goes 2 did over and above what i expected when we first e mailed you for advise. I am delighted to have contacted you and feel invigorated after my holiday, which can be hard to achieve when you have small children.
I hope the hotels your recommend appreciate what you do and that we never would have gone to the Porto Elounda Resort if it was not for your honest approach and sincere advise.
I hope you get a great holiday yourself this year. Thank you again for all your help.

Very enjoyable holiday and great place for kids especially aged 5- 6 years
old. Expensive though!

The Porto Elounda Hotel in Crete was excellent. Purpose built children's
club catering for 6 months to 10 years with everything to keep a small child
amused. Hotel was very high quality and the service was impeccable. Highly
recommended.
