Just returned from relaxing break at Martinhal. The villa complex is very nice and situated on a stunning beach where the Nortada restaurant is by far the best. The nearby surfers town of Sagres is very quiet and unspoilt with a sunny, breezy climate and loads more beautiful beaches to explore, there are a few good restaurants in the town Vila Vela being the nicest. Back at Martinhal itself, we stayed in a 2 bed townhouse which was massive, very well appointed and beautifully furnished - perfect for a family of four. We checked out the 3 bed villas which are really something and would stay here in future just for the views and having your own pool. Both are great value and i would recommend either depending on the size of your party. The team running Martinhal are very professional and available when ever you need them, we were impressed. They seem to have thought of most things you would need when holidaying with children from a good supply of baby gates etc etc to having the CBeebies channel available on the TV in the villa's! The childcare at Polvo's den is excellent as is the baby sitting service. When the Martinhal resort is finished this will be one of the best in Europe and we will certainly be returning.
